Time flies and the beginning of a new school year is just around the corner!

Zion Education Group and Nebula School have been preparing for the start of school since the beginning of August.

Lots of preparation has been made, such as the staff training, Hello Visit, orientation… We strive to create a safe, peaceful and inspiring environment for our children. We look forward to welcoming our new children and parents as well as our returning families. We will have a fantastic orientation for the new school year!

1、Faculty and Staff Training
Being fully prepared for the new semester

At the beginning of August, Zion Education Group held a professional training program for the staff of Nebula School to understand the overall direction and plan for the new school year.

“Child as the Center” is always the core concept of Montessori education. We hope that every staff member will uphold the original heart of Montessori education and implement the essence of Montessori education philosophy in our daily work, and we look forward to seeing our teachers ready to work with a brand new look and present the best condition for children and parents.

Montessori teachers, English language teachers and Chinese language teachers also had their training sessions, where they exchanged ideas and learned from each other in order to continue to improve the level of Montessori teaching.

2、Virtue Education
Shaping Children’s Character

It has been increasingly competitive in the general society in the recent years, but as the benchmark of Montessori education in China, Zion Education Group still attaches great importance to children’s quality and character.

In August 2024, Zion Education Group officially launched the Accredited Virtue Education Teacher Training Program, which does not only include theories, but also combines practical exercises and interactions. Teachers will learn how to integrate virtues education into the Montessori environment, and more importantly, they will learn how to influence the children through their own behavioral conduct.

When all the academic competition comes to its ends, what should we look for in the education for the future? Without doubts, it must be both the physical and mental health of a person, including his or her skills and character. It’s about whether or not he will be nice about the world, whether or not he will be loving, determined, patient, courageous, resilient, responsible, and creative… which all determines whether or not he will be able to find and continue a passion that will last for life.

So here comes all about the virtues, that will help children grow into greater people, and moreover, provide them the opportunity to work together to create a more peaceful society.

3、Hello Visit
Let us welcome and meet our new members before the first day of school!

As the new semester is about to begin, children are full of curiosity and longing for their school life, which also means a little bit of concerns for families, and Hello Visit is a tradition at Nebula School: before the beginning of each fall semester, we invite parents to bring their children to the real Montessori classroom, and to meet with the teachers in order to help their children to build up relationships and trust. This helps children to know the expectations, establish mutual trust, and lay a solid emotional foundation for a smooth integration into the new environment.

The “prepared environment” advocated by Montessori is a well-designed ecosystem in which the Montessori teacher is a role model, a designer of the environment, a provider of resources, a presenter of materials, and a recorder and observer of each child’s growth and development. The teacher encourages and respects the children and each of them is a unique individual.

Teachers will introduce to parents the flow of their children’s day, answering questions, exchanging educational ideas, and building up trust. In the days to come, teachers will continue to provide educational support to parents, caring for the child, helping children develop their greatest potential, fostering confidence and the ability to explore and learn on their own initiative.

4、Orientation
Know everything about the Nebula School!

We have an orientation for new families who are joining our school community, aiming to build a bridge of communication between home and school, so both sides will work together to support the development of children.

It is also a good opportunity for the school to introduce parents to Montessori’s educational philosophy, pedagogy and the operation of the school, to help parents understand the school’s educational goals and programs, to clarify the roles and responsibilities of both parties in educating children, and to ensure that both parties are in sync with each other to promote home-school cooperation.

At the same time, during the parent-teacher conferences, parents learn about the challenges children may face and the aspects they need to adapt to when they the school life starts, so that parents can be prepared beforehand and help children adapt to the life at NS more quickly.
