About Mommy & Me Program, You Should Know These Things!

Our Montessori Mommy and Me Program has been a hit in all three Nebula School campuses, and we have been receiving great feedback from parents who have enrolled the program with their little ones.If you’re curious about what makes this parenting experience unique and valuable, let’s dive into some frequently asked questions:

Q1: Is my child still too young to learn anything in a parenting program?

The first step in understanding your child is observation.

During our Mommy and Me sessions, we show parents how to observe their children based on their developmental stage. For instance, imagine a one-year-old holding onto a shelf while also clutching a material.

If the material falls, our instinct as parents is to help pick it up for the child. However, a professional Montessori teacher encourages waiting for a little while.

Then, the teacher will provide an analysis about what is happening in the child according to his current developmental stage and characteristics.

In the process of observation, we will notice that the child is still holding the shelf with one hand, but then he slowly starts to try to squat down and pick up the material by himself. Over time, this will help him develop his lower body strength. Gradually, he will learn to pick up materials that have fallen on the floor without holding on to the shelf.

The Montessori teacher will explain to the parents what state the child is in at the moment, what does his behavior mean, how do we guide him next, when do we need to help him, when do we let him do it himself, and what do we need to pay attention to and avoid.

It may seem like the child doesn’t “learn” anything in the parenting, but the Montessori teacher is actually understanding and helping the child in a more professional perspective – letting the child do it by themselves.

In addition, the program will help the child develop a sense of order.

In the class, the child will establish a good routine and will know that: when he eats, he eats well; when he works, he concentrates on his work and will not be disturbed.

While what usually happens at home is that the adults are used to feed the child when they are playing with toys and always want to show them a video when they are eating…

This will never happen in our Mommy and Me environment.

Everything in the Mommy and Me environment including work and activities are prepared, planned and purposeful.

As a parent, you will observe and learn together in our community:

How the Montessori teacher guides your child to eat and work independently, rather than mixing many things together at the same time.

As children grow older and develop a sense of routine and order, they will learn to tidy up their clothes and toys, to make their environment more orderly, and to grow strongly both physically and mentally.

If we can help the child establish a good routine before he is 1 year old, it will benefit them for life, and this is one of the greatest gains for parents and children coming to our Mommy and Me program.
