As the scorching summer heat gradually subsides, there’s a palpable air of anticipation as we approach the end of August.

The beginning of the school year holds a special allure for every child and family: familiar settings, long-lost friends, and, of course, our newest students, brimming with curiosity and an affection for the Montessori approach, now joining the ever-welcoming MSS family.

Whether they’re newcomers embarking on their Montessori journey or families that have been an integral part of the MSS community for years, the dedicated staff across MSS’s three campuses eagerly await the chance to meet you.

Amidst the welcome ceremony on the first day of school, a brand new chapter unfurls in the lives of the children. This semester promises to unfold amidst an atmosphere of warmth, camaraderie, and jubilation.

Highlights from the Opening Day at the WHQ Campus

With hearts brimming with anticipation, the teachers of the WHQ Campus eagerly stood at the school gates, awaiting the arrival of parents and their little learners on this eagerly anticipated first day.

Following the summer vacation, the campus once again buzzed with the joyous reunion of children and teachers, a testament to the profound bond they share.

Amidst the tender gazes and soft-spoken greetings, the teachers conveyed their deep-seated respect and affection for the children…

“Sweetheart, look into the camera. Let me take a photo to commemorate your very first day of school!”

To seamlessly integrate the children into the community on their inaugural day, the educators at the WHQ Campus had painstakingly set up a bespoke reading corner in the lobby. Drawing inspiration from the beloved classic “Pip and Posy,” these two endearing characters assumed the role of “ambassadors” for the commencement, leading the children into a realm of relaxed exploration, delightful comfort, and boundless curiosity.

Highlights from the Opening Day at the Xuhui Campus

Adorned with charming balloons and innovative class art displays, the Xuhui Campus extended a dazzling welcome to children and parents alike.

The handmade exhibit boards at the school’s entrance, featuring photographs of the entire class of children and their teachers, served as a heartwarming focal point. As children crossed the campus threshold, they paused by the boards, eagerly locating their own portraits, those of their buddies, and their beloved teachers. This delightful interaction imbued children and parents with laughter…

Concurrently, children left their indelible handprints on these boards, symbolizing their initiation into a new collective and the commencement of a fresh chapter in their MSS Montessori journey!

Through the meticulous planning and thoughtful arrangement by teachers, each classroom at the Xuhui Campus underwent a transformation. As the children stepped into their designated spaces, they immediately felt the immersive Montessori atmosphere – a fusion of authenticity, delight, and familial warmth.

Highlights from the Opening Day at the Minhang Campus

Drawing inspiration from the hues of pink and the overarching theme of “future,” Minhang Campus crafted a distinctively enchanting welcome for the arriving children!

On this inaugural day, parents, children, and teachers of Minhang donned the radiant shades of pink and white, forging connections through handshakes, embraces, and cheerful greetings. The expressions on each child’s face danced with a medley of excitement and bashfulness, all while exuding an underlying sense of joy.

To infuse the children’s first day with an even more ceremonial touch, parents had penned down their well-wishes and aspirations in advance. Armed with these secretive tokens of goodwill, the children tenderly deposited them into their respective class’s designated receptacle. By semester’s end, these very wishes will be retrieved and read aloud by teachers, etching a splendid testament to the children’s personal growth.
