With the theme of “Aesthetics of Old Things” on Earth Day, Minhang Campus held an art exhibition and charity auction to commemorate Earth Day in 2023 at the end of April. Children from 11 classes and other kindergarten art classes in Minhang Campus jointly produced 12 original artworks and the proceeds from the auction will be donated to Shanghai Ed-ability Children’s Care and Development Center.

Inspired by environmental protection concepts of Earth Day, the artworks were made by recycled items and were completed in two weeks. Many parents from MSS Minhang Campus, by choice, came to the event site and donated money with compassion for the charity.

Combined with Earth Day, recycled items, environmental protection concepts, education and art, this charity connects children, schools, teachers, parents, communities and charities to pass on the concept of caring for others. At the same time, the charity also teaches children to care for the surrounding people, and care for the earth and the world with their strength and love.

This is the second charity held by the MSS Minhang Campus in the past 2 months. In early February this year, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake delivered a blow to Turkey. Minhang Campus held a charity for the disaster-stricken areas in Turkey as soon as possible.

With firm support of MSS Minhang teachers, students and staff, 111 people in total donated money and items. All materials were sent to the Turkish Embassy. MSS has received a letter of appreciation and a specially made certificate from the Embassy.

The donation helped the children to realize how small human beings are when disaster strikes, while how strong the power of love is. If numerous kind persons gather in a society, the society will be full of goodwill that can be destined to warm more people.

MSS hopes to continue to help those in need with our modest efforts, and we also look forward to continuing to pass on education of love, warmth and sincerity in diverse forms!
